Arla Foods’ acquisition of competing Swedish dairy company cleared following in-depth investigation

In June 2017, Arla Foods entered into an agreement to acquire the competing Swedish dairy company Gefleortens. The acquisition was conditional upon approval by the Swedish Competition Authority. Following an in-depth investigation, the Competition Authority has decided on October 18 to clear the acquisition unconditionally. BOKWALL RISLUND represented Arla Foods in connection to the Competition Authority’s investigation.

This is the second in-depth investigation initiated by the Swedish Competition Authority this year. BOKWALL RISLUND has been lead competition counsel in both investigations, and both have been unconditionally cleared by the authority.
