Bokwall Rislund is strengthening its expertise in competition and public procurement law
Bokwall Rislund Advokatbyrå is one of Sweden’s leading law firms in competition and public procurement law. We have the pleasure of welcoming three additional specialists to our team!
Omar El Khatib joined Bokwall Rislund on September 2 as Counsel. Prior to joining, Omar spent around four years at the Brussels office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. In Brussels, Omar’s practice focused on complex EU and international competition law in a range of industries, including work on some of the largest and most complex international merger control matters in recent years. Omar has also worked as a senior adviser at the Swedish Competition Authority for almost 5 years and was a project manager on several competition cases and responsible for developing the authority’s procedures in cartel investigations. Omar holds a Master in Laws from Stockholm University and postgraduate degrees in competition law from King’s College in London and the University of California Berkeley. Omar is a member of the bar in Sweden and California (US). Through the addition of Omar, Bokwall Rislund’s capacity to handle more complex competition matters is significantly strengthened; not least in matters relating to the European Commission.
Johan Behseta Sundell started on August 26 as senior associate. He joins from the Swedish Competition Authority where he worked as a competition council on the unit for cartels and mergers. Johan led large cartel investigations, was responsible for unannounced inspections and held interrogations in subsequent investigations. He previously worked at, among others, the European Court of Justice, the College of Europe and did his clerk service at the Administrative Court in Gothenburg. Johan studied law at Lund University and holds a master’s degree from the Raoul Wallenberg Institute. The recruitment strengthens Bokwall Rislund’s expertise in more complex competition matters.
Hampus Stefansson started on 26 August as associate. Hampus specializes in public procurement law and has extensive experience in advising both authorities and suppliers in procurement matters. He joins from the law firm Delphi, where he worked as a senior associate for about two years. Prior to that, Hampus worked at Stavenow & Partners law firm for about five years. Hampus has a law degree from Uppsala University and has also studied European commercial law at the Albert-Ludwig University in Freiburg, Germany. Through the addition of Hampus, Bokwall Rislund’s expertise in procurement law is strengthened.
